APPEARANCE//PERSONALITY Appearance: Lyle is an Earthling teenage boy of medium height. He has light brown hair just brushing his brow, and brown eyes. Charming looks along with a nice smile, which he’s not afraid of showing off. Lyle is skinny and toned, but not obviously muscular because bulk makes stealthy missions difficult. This is sometimes hidden by the baggy jackets he seems to have a fondness for. When out of uniform, Lyle can be found lounging around in normal teenage clothes; jeans, t-shirts [he owns a lot of batman ones], and sneakers. Lyle doesn’t try hard to stand out, but has ways of being noticed, such as his habit of sitting backwards in chairs. His super hero uniform is a skin fitting black outfit that covers everything except his head, going all the way to his jaw line. On the front, there is a large white “i” shape, starting below his collarbone and ending just above his hips. He wears a grey belt with two pouches on each side, and the Legion belt buckle on the front. It was subject to change before he was pulled into Econtra. Upon returning home for a short while, Lyle's uniform was changed. He now wears a black uniform with red across his shoulders, ending high around his neck. A red lower case 'i' is on his chest, with a red belt donning the Legion buckle. He also wears red boots and gloves. Personality: Lyle is a friendly young man, always willing to approach people to befriend them and usually wins them over with his wit and control of conversation. But he's used to people not trusting him right away, and in that way can seem almost desperate for friends. He could even be considered shy, but mostly through his uncertainty once gaining someone's trust and friendship, as if he's afraid that something he's going to do will make him lose it. He is exceedingly smart, and this can give his humor, comments and observations a bit of an edge. He uses his intelligence to make light of bad situations in an attempt to reassure his teammates (and himself) that everything is going to be all right. He does it often in moments of danger and as a defense mechanism. And while he is respectful, Lyle has no problem telling people when they’re wrong. Lyle is sometimes reckless, but he is anything but a coward. He has no problem putting himself in danger for a teammate, and his highest priority is usually saving other people. | |||
STRENGTHS//WEAKNESSES Strengths: Intelligence—Lyle is brilliant, on a higher intelligence then most of the 31st century, and has even been compared to Coluans. He has a mind for biochemistry, but can grasp almost any theory or concept after being exposed to it. What adds to Lyle’s smarts is his imagination, and his ability to think outside the box. He is rather good at applied science and inventing things on the fly. He invented the Legion’s Flight Rings, but needed a lot of Brainy’s help in their ultimate creation. Invisibility—After injecting himself with an Invisibility Serum, Lyle gained the ability to turn invisible at will. He has shown instances where he can keep chosen parts of him visible, but this may require more training before he can master this ability. Spying—Because of his disciplined mind, Lyle can become totally focused at will. This will even make him semi undetectable by mind/emotion readers. To them, when he's using this talent, the space where he is feels totally empty, blank. Because of this ability, his past, and the nature of his super powers, Lyle was appointed as a Co-Leader of the Legion's Espionage Team. He can also pick locks, pilot, and escape fairly quickly from conventional bonds. Hand to Hand—Lyle is rather good at hand to hand combat. While he’s no match for Karate Kid or Triplicate girl, he uses an Aikido esc style [using throws and opponent’s weight against them], and he knows where to hit opponents to cause serious damage. Lyle’s chosen method is to turn invisible and strike from an unexpected direction to knock the opponent unconscious. Weaknesses: Invisibility---Lyle can keep himself invisible for as long as he wants, but if he has others with him, it causes problems. More then one other person for a long amount of time can lead to unconsciousness, or very serious stress related damage. He also cannot become completely undetectable. Those with heightened senses can hear or smell him. If he gets knocked unconscious, he will remain invisible. Very rarely, he can also become invisible upon unconsciousness, as a defense mechanism. However, if his heart stops, or his body becomes too weak to support itself and sustain invisibility, he will return to view. Combat---He isn’t very strong physically, and even though he can hold his own he’s definitely not the ideal person to send into a head on fight. That doesn't stop him though. Personality---Despite his reputation as a tactician, Lyle will sometimes rush into situations, and usually ends up over his head. This rash behavior stems from his will to save others. Fear---Lyle has a notable fear of Earthgov coming back for him and harming his friends. He also is afraid of what people will think once they find out his past. | |||
RELATIONSHIPS (OU)Brainiac 5 ( ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} brainiac5ive)Brainy is the Legionnaire in Econtra the longest. While they don’t come from the same world, and the Coluan looks different, Lyle trusts and takes comfort in Brainy’s presence. He honors Brainy’s advice. (OU) Dick Grayson ( 0nightwing0)Quite honestly, Lyle was slightly intimidated by Nightwing. The Batman Glare that man could produce was worse then both his father's and Cosmic Boy's combined! But it soon became obvious that Dick was a great guy, and Lyle can't help but respect him. Not to mention he feels closer to Dick after taking care of his younger self. He finds it a little weird that Dick and Tinya are dating, but he's glad both of them are happy. (AU) Kon-El ( 000013_kon)Although they just became friends recently, and haven't hung out much, Lyle enjoys talking science with this other version of the 21st century Superboy. He wants to help the other boy as much as possible, and he might just have the technology to do so. (OU) Naoki Kashima ( hands_of_reason)Naoki's flirtatious nature throws him off a little bit, but Lyle cannot deny that he enjoys spending time with the Demi-Fiend. The Legionnaire himself has said that there is something different about their relationship, not that he could put his finger on it though. His answer came when Naoki confessed to having feelings for him, and they're now exploring this new aspect of their friendship. (AU) Persephone ( poppingseeds)Persephone has somehow become a little sister figure to Lyle. He feels very protective of her. (OU) Robin ( flipping_bird)One of Lyle's sparring partners, Robin has constantly impressed. Lyle loves teasing the younger boy, especially about Persephone. But under that, Lyle knows he can count on Robin. (AU) Quatre Winner ( quatre_winner_1)Quatre reminds Lyle of Legion Founder, Saturn Girl. He hates leaning hard on him because he recognizes that the blond burdens more then he lets on. He feels indebted to Quatre for helping him through the hallucination plot, and trusts the blond a great deal. (OU) Tim Drake ( little_wing003)Tim was Lyle's first new friend in Econtra. It's been through Tim that he has met most of his friends. Lyle is a Batman fan, but tries to show Tim that he isn't going to judge him against to the history files. When Bart disappeared, Lyle was desperate to press Tim to confide in someone, even if it wasn't him. He didn't want Tim going through what he did. When Tim disappeared Lyle was terribly shaken.
